Its ingredients were a recipe for success- dominating racing pedigree, an aggressive aero design penned by Pininfarina's chief genius Leonardo Fioravanti responsible for the Dino, an engaging blend of handling, grand touring comfort and real usable power, oh and it was the fastest car in the world from 1968 through to 1974 as well.Australian delivered, ordered via W.H. Lowe Pty Ltd, Melbourne 29th of October 1968 in Blu Torbillon over Red/Black leather this Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is believed to be 1 of just 42 right hand drive Plexiglass cars ever built.
Exceedingly original this numbers matching Daytona still retains its factory colours and was held by the selling Ferrari agent until its one private owner purchased it on the 25th of March 1974, a professor residing in Adelaide.
Offered in excellent running condition this Daytona was subject to a fresh coat of correct Blu Torbillon paint in 1997 along with a new Plexiglas panel added in 2013 as the original had become foggy with age. Otherwise, it is as Enzo intended.
Held in the highest regard amongst Ferrari Tifosi, the smallest details of this car are gobsmackingly original.
From the correct 8 track stereo, to the driver hugging Daytona bucket seats, Carello lights, the well preserved Cromodora alloys, even the Adelaide University parking sticker dated 1976 on the windscreen and the original number plates RCU380 - this Daytona holds all indicative signs of a truly feather bedded classic.
Accompanying the car is the owner's manual, leather wallet and tool roll as well as WH Lowe service receipts from the 1970s.
