The European Car of the Year for 1978, Porsche's 928 was a complete break with tradition boasting a front-engined layout, futuristic styling and a new focus on grand touring.
The changes didn't end there, with an all-new 90-degree V8 engine, aluminium doors, bonnet and front wings in the interests of weight saving and luxurious interior offerings like electric seats, air-conditioning and cruise control the Porsche 928 was par excellence.The evolution of the 928 produced some amazing cars, arguably the most collectable is the 928 S4 Sport Equipment (SE) lavishly equipped with a five speed short shift manual gearbox, sport suspension, uprated camshaft, sports twin pipe exhaust, 16 inch sports magnesium cast light weight alloy wheels and a limited slip differential the SE was faster than the 911 930 Turbo.
One of only 42 SE models produced in 1988 this rare and incredibly original 928 S4 SE is something quite special, believed to be one of just 14 cars produced in Guards Red.
Delivered new to the UK through Lancaster Porsche, Essex in August of 1988 this 928 S4 SE still carries its archetypal 1980's pinstriped interior with contrast red piping and red mats in excellent condition.
Outside, the original magnesium wheels present in mint condition and important details like the original Bosch headlights, correct ID decals lining the engine bay and original Sekurit glass are all still fitted to the car.
