Onyx Black | Coupé | 6 Speed automated sequential gearbox | 4.8 litre V10 | 6,579 kms | SOLD

A limited production run, carbon fibre special that only saw the light of day after a nine-year gestation period in the pursuit of engineering perfection, unlike most other manufacturers Halo models, the Lexus LFA is totally uncompromising.

A featherweight, lean yet muscular and immensely strong - constructed of carbon fiber with a shape sculpted from hundreds of hours of wind-tunnel modelling the LFA is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8 litre 552 horsepower V10.

Smaller than a traditional V8 and lighter than a conventional V6 the LFA's engine is an industrial designers pipedream that Yamaha, F1 and MotoGP engineers, by hook or by crook brought to life.

Inhale- with lightweight internals, including titanium valves and connecting rods the LFA's unrivalled engine spins from idle to redline in just six tenths of a second, launches from 0-100kmh in a dizzying 3.6 seconds via a low-mass single-clutch system (necessary to handle the cars insane acceleration) all whilst the equal-length titanium exhaust manifolds and a Yamaha Instruments-tuned titanium silencer produce a delicious Formula One wailing soundtrack from the center mounted triple-cluster exhaust tails- and exhale.

1 of just 500 cars produced worldwide, Australian delivered and travelled just 6,500 kilometres this stunning LFA is believed to be the only Onyx Black over two tone Red/black trim car in the country.

Meticulously maintained, the entire front section of this LFA is lined with stoneguard paint protection film including the headlights, the interior sills are still protected by the clear pre-delivery anti-scuff decals and the satellite-navigation warning decal is still present beneath the info-tainment screen- all tell-tale signs of how the car has been cared for.

The cockpit is a synthesis of carbon fibre, aluminium, leather and modern tech with arguably the best feeling magnesium-alloy shift paddles ever produced. Front and centre is the digital tachometer, a constant reminder that the engine revs so quickly an analogue system couldn't keep up and the new car aroma is still fresh and present.

As expected, accompanying the car are the complete set of owner's manuals showing a Lexus service history, both carbon fiber keys and both spare keys with fob's and the complete original Tumi LFA luggage set.

Something never to be repeated by Lexus or any other manufacturer, simply put the LFA is not a supercar, it's a narcotic. You can spend months studying exactly what it is from the slightly yellow tinted glass to the disjointed carbon fiber bonnet prop and why that's superior to the standard system.

A twist of the carbon fiber key, the sound of the race-bred V10 barking into life and the sensation of the ground scorching acceleration combine to make the LFA's drive unimaginably addictive.

Excellently prepared, the way in which this one of a kind LFA has been maintained is a credit to the last custodian and an absolute asset to the next.

So rarely available to own and drive, there is no wonder prices are on the rise worldwide.
