Godzilla is alive and well.

The Skyline GT-R range has been a flagship of performance for Nissan since 1969 and continued until production of the Skyline GT-R ended in 2002. Many were worried that Nissan would not make a suitable replacement for the famed GT-R series but they could not have been more wrong. While no longer under the Skyline name, the GT-R has undoubtable brought the performance to rival any modern sports car.

Production of the GT-R began in 2007 and was released to the world in early 2008. Nissan chief creative officer, Shiro Nakamura, has likened the GT-R to the giant robots of the Gundam television series as “… it is not simply a copy of a European-designed sports car; it had to reflect Japanese culture.” The GT-R does just that. Three quarters if the body was designed by Nissan’s American designers and the roof was sculpted by European designers. The creators of the Gran Turismo video games were themselves involved creating the multifunction display that shows everything from coolant temp to engine oil pressure to cornering G-Force to speed.

Not only is the GT-R stunning to look at but it boasts some amazing performance capabilities. Powered by the VR38DETT V6 with parallel IHI turbos, the GT-R can compete with most modern super cars with V8’s or V10’s. The engine is slanted slightly forward so when it takes off it will roll back to sit level with the ground. It is the fastest accelerating four-seater that does 0-60mph in just 2.8sec, placing around the likes of the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari. It also boasts the fastest speed for a four-seater around the Nurburgring by finishing 1.3sec faster than Chevorlet’s Corvette C6 ZR1; their fastest production model. The GT-R also near 50:50 weight distribution which makes its four-wheel-drive more efficient while corning and featuring huge 39cm brakes for easy stopping. It is more slippery than Ferrari 458 Italia and changes gear as fast as a Ferrari Enzo due to a hand built dual clutch gearbox.

All of this is possible do to Nissan’s meticulous attention to detail. While most cars are produced using parts from all over the world, the Nissan GT-R is only produced in Japan in a hermetically sealed, temperature regulated factory. The engines are handmade by one of four master technicians known as Takumi; this one built by Izumi Shioya. One man makes one engine all by hand. Because of this no one GT-R records the same amount of power. The average for this year engine produces around 545hp and 463 lb-ft torque.

The GT-R Black Edition benefits from Recaro front sport seats, lightweight 20” RAYS forged rims and carbon fiber spoiler. The Black Edition was also features a red with black leather interior. This particular Black Edition has been taken care of to an insane level of perfection and has never been launched or over revved making it almost completely new.

If top of the line performance and everyday use is something you are looking for then we have just what you need. The GT-R is a production racecar as well as the everyday driver. This is one of the most pristine and untouched examples you will ever see so do not miss out on your very own GT-R.
