One of the most expensive Mercedes-Benz of the 1960’s to acquire, twice the price of the lower-level 200 series and the pinnacle of the S-Class series, the W112 300 SE Cabriolet is exclusive Mercedes cruising in its grandest form.

Keeping the timeless, elegant coachwork that debuted back in 1959, however now equipped with an updated and very sophisticated for its time, fuel-injected 2,996 cc aluminium block overhead-camshaft, seven-bearing six cylinder based on the earlier 300 SL Gullwing’s powerplant, which develops 170 bhp.

It also featured ground-breaking technology such as advanced and uber comfortable pneumatic suspension along with a 4-speed automatic transmission as standard in addition to air conditioning, electric windows and a Becker stereo radio.

On our showroom floor is this exceptional and beautiful numbers matching 1964 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Cabriolet presented in its original Mid Blue over Cognac leather. With no examples ever officially delivered to Australian shores, this 300 SE Cabriolet was originally delivered to the U.K. and is one of just 92 right-hand drives to leave Sindelfingen.

Having had the same owner residing in Australia for the past 28 years, fastidiously maintained by renowned local Sydney Mercedes-Benz specialists and only recently undergoing a sympathetic refurbishment, this 300 SE Cabriolet is a very collectible and drivable classic.

Having the body brought back to bare metal and resprayed, the interior retrimmed, the mechanicals overhauled, including suspension, engine and gearbox this Benz is ready for its next custodian.

This vehicle is accompanied with a comprehensive service history dating back to the late 1990’s and photographs documenting it’s refurbishment.

An excellent example of a Mercedes-Benz from the celebrated Paul Bracq-era and with so few produced this particular car is a rare opportunity for any Benz enthusiast and/or collector.
