Mint Green | Coupé | 3 Speed Automatic | 3.3 litre | 183,603 kms | AU$39,995

Powered by BMW’s vaunted inline-six M30 engine producing an awesome 200HP and matched with less ostentatious GT styling by Paul Bracq, the E24 6 Series was launched into BMW’s new line of luxury GT cars and proved a huge success, even during the fuel crisis of the ‘70s.

After a test in 1977 Motor Trend wrote, “This is the best BMW you can buy today, and perhaps the best car the Bavarian Motor Works has yet produced.”. Oh yeah, it was also a 16-time Touring Car Championship title winner too.

Featuring all-independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and power-assisted steering as standard this car went like a bat out of hell and stopped on a dime with a 0-100km/h time of just 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 216km/h. This was/is BMW’s ultimate driving machine.

Period retro colour is back and offered here is an E24 633 CSi (Coupé Sports Injection), BMW's flagship model and the most expensive model in the line-up for 1976 ordered in far out Mint Green over Beige cloth and leather trim with the optional silky 3 speed automatic transmission.

Delivered new to Sydney by Capital Motors in June of 1977, high prices meant few would find owners in Australia and survivors are increasingly hard to locate but that’s exactly what this car is.

Well maintained from new, this rare car is still fitted with its original and well-preserved interior and the dash and its switchgear show zero signs of age. The original ADR Emissions decal is still fitted to the engine bay and the correct and rare BMW stamped TRX multi-spoke alloys are there too, all hallmarks of an original and prized car.

With the car comes its original owner’s handbook as well as the service booklet and a swathe of service history that’s not often seen with this generation of car. You’ll need to BYO the Bee Gee’s, Super Tramp and Fleetwood Mac soundtrack though.

Urging you to go for a spin, on a twisty road you’ll discover the ultimate combination of ride, handling, braking and steering that made this coupe one of the world's best road-going GTs.

A combination of performance and refinement for very reasonable cost this rarely available to own, drive and invest in BMW E24 633CSi with impeccable service history and a drive that gets you out of bed at 5am on a Sunday morning is an au fait choice.
