Released in 1968 the Espada, another Lamborghini bedroom wall poster phenomenon, ensured enthusiasts of the raging bull would be gasping for it over their next breath.

Alongside its siblings, the vaunted Miura and peerless 400GT, the Espada was brought to market as a technologically advanced Grand Touring Sportscar with comfortable space for 4.

Penned by the fabled Gandini of Bertone, with its evocative design 1,217 Espadas were produced from 1968 to 1978, making it Lamborghini’s most successful model of the era before the expansion of their production line to make way for the all new supercar, the Countach. In true Italian style, the Espada was fitted with a thumping 3.9L V12-24 valve powerplant breathing through 6 side-draft Weber carburettors producing a sensory engaging 321 horsepower. The car was assembled around a monocoque steel body and uniquely featured premium specifications as standard including, fully independent suspension, double wishbones, anti-roll bars, four-disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning and twin fuel tanks.

The 1977 Lamborghini Espada offered here is a 3rd and final Generation, Australian delivered, numbers matching, original right-hand drive car ordered in sensational Marrone Luci Di Bosco over Tan leather trim, as it presents today.

Believed to have travelled an original 58,000 kilometres as shown, this is also 1 of just 5 right-hand drive cars to be optioned with an automatic transmission.

The subject of a professional, painstaking and ground-up restoration that took several years to complete resulting in a bill only a mother could love this well documented car is one of the finest in the world.

The top-tier depth of finish to the paintwork and finer exterior features from the correct seals, Carello light lenses and original Campangolo alloys to the correct Weber carburettors and even the artfully finished glass kick panel at the rear illustrates the keen attention to detail that went into restoring this car to exacting specification.

The interior is much the same, with meticulous detail down to the needlework across the hard to find correct leather, the refurbished timber trim on the door cards and form fitted velour dash the driver is surrounded with gorgeous original Jaeger Italia instrumentation, a one-way ticket to keeping even the most discerning connoisseur in awe.

All this exacting detail combined with this cars usable automatic transmission, power steering and air-conditioning renders this rare sportsclassic as a very stylish commuter.

Accompanied by its original set of tools, spare wheel, as well as an extensively documented log of the restoration photoalbum and receipts this Australian delivered and exquisitely restored Espada Series III is unrivalled.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to acquire not only an extremely collectible classic but also one of Lamborghini’s most tractable.
