The descendant of the Jaguar E-Type, the XJ-S was such a successful model Jaguar Cars produced it for nearly 21 years and today, the XJ-S is an absolute classic that is the epitome of William Lyons ethos “Grace, Space and Pace”.

Offered in a coupé, fixed-profile and full convertible, from 1975 to 1996 there were three distinctive evolutions of the XJ-S.

It was in 1981 when the XJ-S was renamed the XJ-S HE (High Efficiency) due to its 5.3L V12 increasing output to 295 horsepower. At the same time, the XJ-S HE received changes to its exterior and interior which included body-coloured boot trim in place of the standard previous black, new five-spoke alloy wheels, chrome inserts on the upper part of the bumpers, burled elm inserts on dashboard and door capping’s.

In 1983, the rear seats were removed in order to make room for a removable soft-top and whilst it was not a full convertible, Jaguar had designed it as a stylish fixed profile with a non-removable centre “Targa” type structure, fixed rails above the doors and fixed rear quarter windows. Just 2 years later you could order one with a V12.

Here we have a very original and fastidiously maintained Australian delivered 1985 Jaguar XJ-SC V12 HE. Sold new by Winterfaulls Motors, Perth on the 20th of November 1985 this Jaguar has travelled an original 113,568 kilometres ever since.

The first owner of the XJ-SC HE was a well-known businesswoman and one of Australia’s wealthiest women and it was first registered with the number plate ‘7777’ due to her ownership of Channel 7 at the time.

Being the favourite of her collection, it was after a long-term ownership for a sum of 28 years before it was sold to its second and most recent owner.

Purchasing the car at 107,000 kilometres it has been the subject of extensive mechanical work over the past 8 years with a well-regarded Jaguar specialist in Western Australia – no expense spared - making it one of the most impressive XJS’ we’ve ever seen.

The car runs beautifully and everything works correctly as it should and this includes its icy cold air-conditioning.

In addition, this Jaguar has had recently refurbished wheels, brand new roof upholstery, Moto-Lida leather steering wheel and upgraded headlamps.

The exterior of the Jaguar presents excellently, its body panels are nice, straight and its paintwork is in great condition. The interior doesn’t differ, the leather upholstery has been well preserved and the interior trim is in good order.
