1993 Porsche 911 Anniversary Limited Edition

One of the most collected and engaging but least produced Porsche’s ever made, 1993 marked the 30th anniversary of the launch of the 911 and to celebrate Porsche produced a bespoke build spec, limited edition car - the 911 '30 Jahre' Anniversary edition 964.

With only 911 examples produced worldwide in a limited choice of exterior colours (Viola, Polar Silver and Amethyst), the Anniversary 911 featured an exclusive option specification that was based on the 964 Carrera 4 with wide body front and rear guards, extended hand-stitched Rubicon Grey leather interior, 4-wheel drive, airbags, air conditioning, electric rear spoiler and sunroof.

Just 17 cars arrived on Australian shores with significantly less remaining here today and only on the very rare occasion does one become available.

Offered here is one such Australian delivered, 1993 911 964 Anniversary in its original Polar Silver over Rubicon leather trim with instrumentation in outstanding original condition and travelled just 177,300 kilometres.

Released from a private collection, delivered new through Austral Porsche in April of 1994, this meticulously kept 911 was the recent subject of a detailed mechanical overhaul.

Works included, a top-end engine refurbishment, new shock absorbers and suspension bushes, a new air conditioning compressor as well as a new clutch master cylinder and clutch plate all completed by classic Porsche specialists based in Sydney.

In such original condition all of the subtle nuances from the well-kept interior trim including the firm perforated leather sports seats, plush Rubicon carpets and seemingly untouched switch gear this car has clearly been a prized possession.

The exterior has been kept in the same meticulous fashion. The Polar Silver paintwork highlights the 964 wide-body curves well, all correct Bosch light lenses are still fitted as well as the correct tear-drop rear vision mirrors and colour crested centre caps for the original Cup 2 alloys so often replaced over time.

The drive is also on the button. An event from the moment you feel the solid click of the door opening, to the rifle like gear shift feel and well-weighted steering, nothing puts power to the road quite like a wide bodied Carrera 4.

This is obviously a car that has had the right mechanic use the right tools from the word go.
