Exuding both power and elegance, the Porsche 911 Type 964 is equipped with a 3.6-litre flat-six engine producing 184 kW, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds.
When the 911 Type 964 was first introduced to the market, Porsche was keen to emphasise that, while it unmistakably remained a 911, it was in fact 87% different from its predecessor. The new design featured more integrated bumpers and a host of mechanical advancements.
The engine displacement was increased to 3600cc, delivering an impressive 250 hp—remarkable even by today’s standards. Power steering and ABS brakes were fitted as standard, while the traditional torsion bar rear suspension was replaced with coil springs and shock absorbers. Porsche also paid careful attention to aerodynamics, reducing the drag coefficient to 0.32, which, combined with virtually zero lift, significantly improved stability and road holding at high speeds.
The 964 was offered in a variety of configurations, including four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, and in both coupé and cabriolet forms. However, aside from the 911 Turbo and the Speedster, the rarest of the C2 model range is the classic 911 Cabriolet.
Today, the 964 is one of the most universally revered generations of the 911. Its perfect blend of modernity and classic purity has earned it a place in the hearts of enthusiasts worldwide. Most aficionados would consider a 964 an essential part of a five-car 911 collection. With just 39 examples allocated to Australia in 1990, it represents an outstanding investment opportunity.
This particular car is an Australian-delivered 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet, originally supplied new on 14th January 1993 through Hamiltons of Melbourne. It is finished in Polar Silver Metallic over Blue leather trim.

Having had just one owner since new, this 911 has been exceptionally well preserved and meticulously maintained by both Porsche and marque specialists. Its most recent service was carried out on 8th August 2024. In 2017, at approximately 112,000 kilometres, the car underwent a complete engine rebuild by Sydney-based marque specialists.
Today, with only 127,900 kilometres on the clock, it remains in excellent condition—a true testament to its careful ownership. Combining the timeless appeal of the classic 911 philosophy with modern comforts, it is the perfect choice for both the enthusiast and the first-time 911 owner alike.
With such limited production numbers, this highly sought-after modern sports classic is not to be missed.
