1995 Volvo 850 T-5R

The Swedish manufacture revealed it’s all new sedan in 1991 trumping its competitors with a few world firsts like it’s all new transverse five pot engine, side impact protection, self-adjusting seat belt and ‘delta-link’ rear axle design – revolutionary stuff.

However, it wasn’t until the T-5R alternatively known as the “Really Quite Fast Yellow One” was released in 1994 where it took the spotlight thanks to Volvo whacking a great big turbocharger on its 2.3 litre straight five-cylinder engine to produce 240 HP and to look the part, the Volvo was equipped with fancy spoilers, special exhaust tips and all new 17-inch 5-spoke sporty shoes.

After being released and due to limited production numbers, orders were placed immediately and all cars were sold out in just a few weeks.

We are excited to offer this rare low kilometre 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R sold new in Sydney in Cream Yellow over black leather trim optioned with an electric sunroof.

Still in great condition, a testament to its clicks travelled, just 94,764 kilometres to be exact, the exterior paintwork and wheels down to the interior trim present in great condition throughout.

Accompanied with its original owners’ manuals and its service booklet which documents a great maintenance history, the Volvo’s last major service was completed in October 2018 and it has travelled only 64 kilometres since.

Quirky, cool and totally 90’s, these T-5R’s are quickly becoming a modern cult classic.
