2003 Mercedes-Benz SL 500

After 12 popular years in its previous form, the massively re-styled and re-engineered SL500 two-seat convertible went on sale in early 2003.

The new car was powered by a 302-hp, 5.0-liter V8 engine, fitted with the world’s first electronic variable brake control, and included a vario hard-top convertible roof that was able to unfold in just 16 seconds.

Mercedes' stylists lengthened the SL 500’s wheelbase by 1.8 inches, widened the track by about an inch, and shortened the overhangs to give it a road-inhaling stance.

This cars scandalous curves are a magnet for attention and the silky smooth V8 will take you from 0-100 in a whiplashing 5.5 seconds whilst the chassis clings securely to the pavement all whilst keeping you in supreme comfort.
