Pure White | Targa | 8-Speed PDK | 3.0 litre Twin-Turbo Flat Six | 2,300 kms | AU$339,995

WPCS 2.1.0

There are few cars that embody the passage of time quite like a 911. Decade after decade, its essence remains unchanged - a rear-engined silhouette that still manages to surprise you with just how modern it feels.

The latest Targa 4, part of the 992 generation, continues that lineage with an unmistakable blend of craftsmanship, technology, and pure mechanical charm.

The Targa has always been the connoisseur’s choice - the thinking driver’s 911. It takes the timeless coupe form and adds theatre. At the press of a button, the entire glass canopy lifts and folds itself away in a beautifully choreographed ballet of motors and hinges, revealing an open cockpit beneath the satin black Targa bar. It’s an experience that feels as special to watch as it does to drive.

Underneath, the engineering is every bit as exquisite. The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six produces 283 kW and 450 Nm of torque, channelled through Porsche’s eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox to all four wheels. The result is effortless pace - 0–100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds - and a top speed nudging 289 km/h, all accompanied by the rich, authentic soundtrack of the optional sports exhaust system.

Yet what defines this car isn’t simply its numbers. It’s the feel. The steering - now enhanced by Power Steering Plus - remains one of the most communicative systems in the business, the chassis supple yet unflappable, and the traction unshakeable even in wet conditions. The 992 Targa rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Carrera S wheels, painted in satin black, which perfectly complement the Pure White paintwork and black sports seats within.

Inside, it’s pure Porsche modernism: a digital yet analogue-feeling cabin, beautifully constructed and intuitively laid out. The Sport Chrono Package adds the mode switch on the steering wheel, sharpening throttle response and gearbox logic at the flick of a dial. The Exclusive Design taillights, Porsche crests on the headrests, and Porsche LED door courtesy lights add subtle layers of detail that only an enthusiast will truly appreciate.

Delivered new to Porsche Centre Adelaide and enjoyed by a single private owner, this car has covered only 2,800 km since new and presents in outstanding condition throughout, complete with full Porsche service history and books.

Few open-top cars manage to balance elegance, precision, and usability quite like the Targa. It’s part sculpture, part sports car, and entirely Porsche - the perfect way to experience the 911’s evolving story, roof up or down.
