For Porsche, the Carrera S was the ultimate, naturally aspirated version of the brands 993 Carrera 2. With the same mechanicals, it combined the wide body of the Turbo, a lowered ride height with optimised suspension and a limited production of 12 months, creating an instant classic and later a global collectors car.

Already limited in right hand drive, Just 95 993 Carrera S models were made avaialbe for Australia, with most being ordered with Porsche's Tiptronic transmission. The small delivery allocation was brought about by a high demand across the US, the result being today finding a manual transmission 993 Carrera S in right-hand drive today is no easy feat.
