1936 Jaguar SS 100

Here at CTS we have had the pleasure of unearthing many great cars over the years and this latest car to come out of hiding is very special indeed…

The property of a real old gentleman racer and antique store owner Lancelot Hill. Lance had a passion for cars and over the decades built up a varied collection. Sadly Lance passed away last year and now the cars will need new custodians.

Several cars he had for decades including this amazing SS 100 Jaguar 2.5 litre.

Owned for nearly sixty years!! and raced in period at Warwick Farm, Bathurst and Mt. Druitt to mention a few in New South Wales, Australia.

The car was retired sometime in 1969/70 and safely tucked away in his barn at the rear of his business where it has remained untouched for an incredible 50 years.

I would often pop into his shop and we would chat about cars in his little office that was packed to the rafters with car magazines and old car books. he would tell me about the racing in his MG TC and SS 100 that had long been off the road.

His car knowledge was truly amazing and he would follow the market on all types of cars, old and new, and included in his collection was a Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 which he drove right up his passing. Now that is very cool indeed…

The opportunity is now there for the next custodian to bring this time warp SS 100 back to life sympathetically.

A true barn find and in single ownership for nearly 60 years! this car will need someone to take on the task of bringing this wonderful old classic British sports car back to life once again.

Accompanying the car will be a full file of all the races it competed in and some wonderful period pictures of the car in competition.

A very exciting project and barn fresh!
