Brought to the world by Sir Alec Issigonis, renowned as the designer and father of the Mini that succeeded it, the Morris Minor’s story began in 1948 and end after three model series in 1971.

The Minor was ultimately a revelation at a time when majority of motorcars on the road were pre-war machines and thanks to its modernised unitary construction, modern styling with plenty of interior space, rack and pinion steering and torsion-bar independent front suspension.

Powered by the famous A-series 4 cylinder engine first displacing at 803 and updated in 1956 to a more powerful 948cc engine.

BMC had manufactures all around the world including Australia’s Zetland factory in Sydney and whilst the Minor started off as a saloon, other variants were introduced along the way diversifying the range into a wood-panelled traveller wagon, panel van and of course a pick-up/utility, or as we say in Australia, a Ute.

On the showroom floor is a beautifully restored 1957 Morris Minor Utility, Australian built and supplied by Peter Lloyd Limited, Sydney which is still presented in its original colour of Gull Grey over a Grey vinyl interior.

Undergoing a restoration starting in 2006 and completed in 2007, the vehicle was subjected to a bare metal re-spray, interior re-trim, extensive works to the mechanicals including the engine and gearbox, and little touches were added like a stunning wooden rear tray this Morris is exceptional.

Whilst preserved and maintained fastidiously since it’s restoration this little Minor drives as good as it looks, it’s gearbox is smooth, the engine pulls like a train and all of the re-worked suspension rides well.

The vehicle is accompanied with a comprehensive maintenance history and receipts documenting its restoration.

A car that would suit anyone looking for their first classic due to their known reliability and uncomplicated nature, a loyal enthusiast or even someone looking for a great promotional vehicle for their business, this little Morris Minor won’t disappoint.
