Silver Blue Metallic | Coupé | 4 Speed Manual | 4.7 Litre V8 | 36,038 miles | SOLD

WPCS 2.1.0

Introduced to the world at the Ford Pavilion in 1964, THE most anticipated vehicle releases the world has ever seen, after many months of rumors, gossip and news leaks the Ford Mustang was released.

When Ford launched the vehicle, it initially only forecasted 100,000 units. However, on the first day, dealerships took orders for over 22,000 of them. Once it was introduced, the success became official when it was featured on racetracks as pace cars in America. During the first 12 months of the vehicle being on the market, it sold 417,000 units. Within two years, Ford had sold its one-millionth Mustang.

Still being manufactured today, the Mustang has been one of the most iconic sports cars produced to date. Its familiar design has remained ultimately unchanged much like the Porsche 911 and due to its appearance in popular culture, first appearing in James Bond’s: Goldfinger in 1964, and to this day even amongst non-petrol heads the Ford Mustang is unmistakably recognizable cruising down Sunset Boulevard or parked outside a Silver Airstream late-night American Diner.

Offered in a Saloon, Convertible or the ultra-desirable Fastback and after its initial release, for the new model year of 1965, the Ford Mustang was available with a 3.3L Inline Six-Cylinder or the quintessential 4.7L V8 widely known as the ‘289’ featuring either ‘C-Code’ two-barrel carburetor or ‘A-Code’ Four-barrel carburetors.

On the showroom floor we have a superb example of a February built 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback ‘C-Code’ 289 ordered in Silver Blue Metallic Green Metallic with Blue & White Luxury Pony Trim and Manual Transmission.

The Warranty Number for this stunning example reads as such:

• Trim (62) Blue & White Luxury
• Date (23B) 23rd day of February

Arriving in Australia in the last 10 years, this Ford Mustang was professionally restored to its exacting factory specification of Silver Blue Metallic with Blue and White Luxury Trim and equipped with Hurst Shifter to compliment it’s sought after 4-speed manual transmission.

Accompanying the vehicle is a history file, owners booklet and receipts detailing mechanical work to the engine, brakes and suspension over this period.

Today presented in its original colour combination, this Ford Mustang is in excellent condition both in the paintwork around the exterior providing a glass like metallic finish as well as inside the cabin the interior trim presents immaculately to original specification.

Recently released from a classic car collection, this Pony is a turn key example and is one for the driving enthusiast. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to own this desirable American classic muscle just in time for spring.
