It all started with the AC Ace and what you would call a mad scientist named Carroll Shelby who planted an enormous 427 Ford V8 to scratch his itch of determination to just go ridiculously fast.

It was after the success Ford had with their GT40’s at Le Mans using Shelby’s engines the company remained influential with Ford manufactured cars and in 1967 the notorious GT500 was added to the line-up of Shelby Super Ford’s.

“Seven liters! Four hundred and twenty-eight cubic inches in a Mustang!” - Car and Driver February, 1967 Yes, the GT500 was fitted with a ‘Cobra Le Mans’ 7.0 litre Police Interceptor V8 that gulps fuel through two 600 CFM Holley four-barrel carburettors to produce 355 HP and a cataclysmic 570Nm of torque to its rear wheels.

The ultimate 60’s muscle car on our showroom floor we have this excellent example for any enthusiast or collector to sink their teeth into.

Finished in the desirable Acapulco Blue Metallic with white Le Mans stripes and black trim is this numbers matching 1967 Shelby Ford Mustang GT 500 ordered with a 4-Speed manual transmission, Deluxe Aluminium 10-Spoke Wheels, Shoulder Harness, Sport Deck Rear Seat, Power Disc Brakes and Power Steering.

This GT 500 started its long life by exiting the San Jose, California factory doors in August of 1967, one of just 2048 built for that year.

The vehicle underwent a comprehensive restoration in the United States prior to being imported here to Sydney, Australia in April 2012.

Since it’s arrival it’s been cared for by two meticulous owners with its last owner performing a full mechanical overhaul completed by marque specialists over the course of four years finishing in 2018.

Accompanied with an original Shelby GT 500 owner’s manual and a detailed record of the mechanical work completed by the last owner.

A turnkey '67 ready for its next driver don’t miss out on the opportunity to acquire a blue chip, rare and iconic American muscle car.
