Built from 1961 - 1972, the Mercedes-Benz W111 coupés remain among the marque’s most distinctive and elegant models. Sharing mechanicals with the W111 “fintail” sedans, the coupés introduced a more mature fin-less style.

The 280 SE introduced in 1968 was the final six-cylinder version of the series, more agile than American luxury coupés and with negligible direct European competition.
