1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV

Offered here is an exceptionally rare opportunity to be the next custodian of one of the finest and lowest mileage original right-hand drive Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV’s in the world.

This Australian delivered car was ordered in Le Mans Blue over Tan trim and is accompanied by fully documented mileage from new with all delivery books, purchase invoices and complete ownership history from day one.

Purchased new from MW Motors, Melbourne by Lyndon Duckett (friend and rival of Grand Prix ace Lex Davidson) in February 1974 for $6,650.00 for reasons known only to Lyndon, the GTV was stored in his city based warehouse for the next 29 years, run on blocks having done just 500 miles when sold from his estate in 2003.

This GTV was recomissioned and driven by the 2nd owner, an Alfa Romeo enthusiast and subsequently the car changed hands 3 more times, all Alfa Romeo enthusiasts, until the current owner purchased the car in 2016.

Since 2016 the car has been on an amazing journey.

The exterior of the car has been repainted (it was still very good but had some flaws after 42 years) by marque specialist Paul Rankin, it was taken back to original metal but the engine bay, boot, interior and underneath were untouched except they were subjected to hours of fine detailing and cleaning with originality retained at all costs.

The interior is all original and untouched and is in unbelievable condition, still carrying that new car smell.

The mechanicals were all dismantled and checked by marque specialist Hugh Harrison and anything that required replacing was attended to, mostly leaking seals. All original bolts etc were retained.

The wheels on the car are all correct and date stamped with polished centre caps, the original steel wheels, which had gone missing were amazingly located and come as a spare set with the car. It is believed these wheels still retain the original tyres fitted to the car and they match the tyre on the spare wheel.

The end results of 3 years work is a stunning, highly original, low mileage 2000 GTV with a flawless external paint job in the awesome Le Mans blue colour and totally original and untouched tan interior.

This 2000 GTV runs and drives like a new car. It would be a hit at any concours event and is a must have for any true car collector. A superb and incredibly desirable classic Alfa Romeo rarely ever seen, ripe for investment.
