Among the last of the truly classic 911 models was the G-Series 911.

A landmark car within the celebrated history of Porsche built between 1974 and 1989, devoid of the electronic gizmos that increasingly found their way into Porsche's throughout the 1990’s and beyond, today these cars offer easy and exciting ownership.

The fastest naturally aspirated Porsche from 0-100kmh to hit the tarmac at the time, the 911 badge tells the enthusiast that the engine's displacement has been increased to 2.7 and the use of high quality materials both inside and out have allowed this generation to survive the ravages of time, making it one of the most usable, enjoyable and collectable Porsche’s today.

With plenty of power and torque available early in the rev range, the 2.7 litre 911 has a smooth, sweet-revving character.

Offered here is a rare Australian delivered, numbers matching and original 1976 Porsche 911 2.7 sold new by John Newell Porsche, Sydney.

Presented in its original Alpine White paintwork over Red and Blue Tartan trim in great condition and with a few mod cons to improve usability, this excellent example also features the practical Sportomatic transmission.

Meticulously maintained from new, this car still features its original electric windows and mirrors, Bosch headlamps and Sekurit glass but has also been fitted with a modern radio and air conditioning.

Corresponding to its detailed history folio with receipts dating back to the 1980’s, in the mid 1990’s this car was subject to major mechanical works with classic Porsche specialists Bob Whyms with religious major and minor servicing maintained ever since. The last major works were to the Sportomatic transmission with a minor service undertaken in February of this year sparing no expense.

Many tell-tale signs show how well the car has been cared for throughout its entire life from the close-fitted stitching across the sports seats, the original John receipts throughout the history file and the original operation decals still in present in the engine bay.

Accompanying this 911 is all of its original log books kept within the correct vinyl Porsche wallet and a compendium of receipts for any and all works ever carried out on the car from the factory and specialists thereafter.

Distinctly, memorably and addictively different in the way it engages the driver than any other car this excellently prepared, Australian delivered 911 2.7 Coupe is one of the best we’ve ever driven.

A credit to the last owner and an asset to the next.
