In the world of SUVs, Range Rover is the gold standard.

An all-weather, tackle any terrain machine and arguably the first off-road fashion accessory, early Range Rovers paved the way for this globetrotter’s modern popularity.

A Paris to Dakar Rally winner and famously quoted by Harry’s Garage as being “perfect to throw your dead sheep into” fitted with a beefy 135 horsepower Rover V8, long travel suspension for stability and exceptional axle articulation, 4 speed high-low ratio gearbox and boasting spectacular 360° elevated views of the world around you, pre-1995 Range Rovers were and are still unrivalled on our roads today.

Exceptional early Range Rovers now command as much, sometimes more than today’s most sophisticated 4x4s with values and interest continuing to skyrocket internationally.

The lure of the great outdoors will always beckon the adventurous and there is no better way to experience it than with a Classic Range Rover.

Available here is a stunning and largely original Australian delivered 1983 Range Rover in rarely seen Reseda Green Metallic over Tan Velour. Now rarer than the 'Suffix A' two-door cars, these early four-door models have a similar look and feel but with the practicality of four door accessibility.

An exceptionally clean and un-restored Australian car, this ‘83 model has covered fewer than 30,000 kilometres in the last ten years. It was dry stored throughout the latter period, and appears to have been similarly well cared for throughout its entire life.

Indeed, where the original foam pads on the plastic sill covers touch the steel sill there is no rot - a very rare occurrence - and smaller details like the original Triple XXX glass and correct tail gate still being fitted and the condition of the exterior pin striping and decals are all tell-tale signs of a well-maintained Range Rover.

In accompaniment is the correct MY1983 owner’s manual, modern service history documentation and an upgraded stereo system.

Then and still now the pinnacle of the SUV market, the evocatively named Range Rover is THE status symbol to be seen in with roots tied to the British royal family, international heads of state and celeb-royalty alike.

A wonderful opportunity for the collector of these fast-appreciating classics.
