The 3.2 Carrera is regarded as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared on the road in 1963.
These “last of” the classically styled 911’s, eventually replaced by the more contemporary Type 964, were the most engaging and usable of Butzi Porsche's original design and are the ultimate 1980's sports car.Australian delivered and sold new by Hamiltons Porsche of South Yarra, Melbourne in July of 1985 this meticulously well maintained 3.2 Carrera Targa was optioned in crisp Crystal Green Metallic over Black leather trim.
This exceedingly original car offers factory fitted modern conveniences including electric windows, mirrors and seats, power steering and air-conditioning. One of the many reasons these very usable classics are resurging in popularity today.
Inside, the steering wheel, leather dash, crystal clear iconic orange/white 911 dials and original carpets present in excellent original condition and the engine bay still holds the original ID decals- a great sign of how well the car has been cared for.
Outside, the panel fit and finish is superb with all original Porsche, Targa and Carrera badges still present as well as the original Fuchs wheels in outstanding condition.
Boasting a comprehensive service history recorded within the original log books, also included with this Targa are receipts for every single service dating back to 1992 through to the last in October 2016.
The result has preserved a 911 that feels as though it’s right out of the box. As engaging as Porsche intended, prepped weekend blasts through the mountains with the Targa top off.
There are few cars that have been as successful on the road and track around the world as the 911. This excellent example of a 911 3.2 litre Carrera Targa embodies everything Porsche strive to achieve, performance, road presence and a drive that leaves you wide eyed.
Offering the perfect blend of modern practicalities and classic motoring, there is no wonder these 1980’s Carrera’s are becoming so popular. And, for the collector, the Targa offers the lowest production numbers of all 3.2 Carrera’s ever produced.
This Australian delivered and excellently prepared 911 3.2 Carrera Targa won’t be available for long.
