The Series 1 944 Turbo landed in Australian showrooms in 1986 with a price tag of $115,000. Double the standard 944.
The 944 Turbo’s power delivery was lauded as reminiscent of early turbo 911’s, with peak torque arriving at just 4,000 rpm, plus an addictive surge from 2,500 rpm that has to be felt to be believed.The power coupled with perfect handling at 50/50 weight distribution, disc brakes at all four wheels and an aggressively wide wheel track made the 944 Turbo a period cult car that today, has made it incredibly collectable.
The car offered here is the more desirable Series 2 with upgraded interior originally delivered new by Scuderia Veloce Motors, Sydney in June of 1986.
