British automaker Rover officially re-launched the Mini Cooper in September of 1990 basing the new design on the 'Mini 30', the most luxurious design to date and enlarging the engine to 1,275cc for an exciting performance upgrade.
It was in 1997 a multi-point fuel injected engine was introduced, along with a front-mounted radiator and various safety improvements providing more usability and performance making these runout models highly desirable before BMW introduced their all new MINI.Available here is an excellently presented 1997 Mini Cooper ordered from factory in two tone British Racing Green Metallic with White roof over Dark Green leather interior and has just 39,000 kilometres showing.
Originally delivered to Japan and arriving on Australian Shores in 2013, this very original car was optioned with the "Sports Pack" which features 13" x 6J alloy wheels, with body coloured wheel arch spats and Koni shock absorbers, along with additional instrumentation and a big-bore chrome exhaust finisher, it was additionally fitted with timber embellished interior trim and air-conditioning.
Still in immaculate condition throughout, this example has been meticulously preserved, the paintwork is excellent, the interior shows little wear, mechanically it runs and drives well and blows icy cold air through its air-conditioning unit.
With the early Cooper S’s quickly achieving high-values locally and overseas, the demand for the classic Mini continues to grow. The Rover mini offers the fun and quirky characteristics of the original in a more usable day-to-day package making these a highly desirable modern classic.
