As history inscribes, some of the most innovative and creative developments have derived from top-secret projects led by a group of passionate individuals in their downtime. Such cars like the all famous Lamborghini Miura, Ferrari Dino and McLaren F1 were all spawns of a group of “mad-scientists” looking to bring a new contender to the ranks.

Dubbed as "E52," this project was spearheaded by luminaries such as Chris Bangle, Henrick Fisker, and Scott Lempert, tasked with paying homage to the renowned BMW 507. The unveiling of the Z07 at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1997 garnered immense praise, prompting the swift transition to production. While the bubble roof was omitted, the design that captivated audiences remained intact.

Beyond its contemporary aesthetics, the Z8 boasted a fully aluminum chassis and body, coupled with an engine positioned behind the front axle, achieving an ideal 50/50 weight distribution. Car and Driver's comparison with the Ferrari 360 Modena revealed the Z8's superiority in acceleration, handling, and braking, stunning enthusiasts.

We are thrilled to introduce what we believe to be one of the rare Z8s in Australia. Originally purchased in the UK, this vehicle underwent a conversion to right-hand drive by the esteemed BMW specialist group, Birds Auto, before finding its way to Australia as a personal import. Having been cherished and enjoyed as a right-hand drive vehicle in Australia for several years, its allure remains undiminished.

Enhanced with a Supersprint exhaust system, every excursion with the Z8 is an event unto itself. Engaging the sport mode button transforms the car into a poised performer, primed to conquer winding roads, yet with the original hardtop affixed, it metamorphoses into an elegant grand tourer, ideal for leisurely journeys.

One of the few examples to grace the Australian market, meticulously compiled for registration, seize this extraordinary opportunity to own and experience this distinctive piece of BMW's heritage.
