The fabled 911 Type 996 GT2 was Porsche's fastest and most expensive model for 2002, costing $500,000 brand new.

10 percent more powerful and 7 percent lighter than the 911 Turbo from which it evolved, with zero driver aids and power delivered directly to the rear wheels the GT2 quickly developed a reputation for being the ultimate driver's car.

Fitted with a twin turbocharged flat-six 3.6 liter engine derived from Porsche's Le Mans winning 911 GT1, the GT2 despatches 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds thanks to its larger KKK 24 turbochargers and boost pressure of 14.5psi.

Weight-saving came in the way of deleted rear seats, a tire repair kit in place of a spare, carbon fiber interior trim, and the GT2 was the first Porsche fitted with Ceramic Composite Brakes as standard, weighing 50 percent less than comparable metal discs.

Tremendous attention was paid to the GT2's downforce, front and rear. A new front air dam and rear wing were developed and air leaving the radiator exits through a slot in the bonnet generating further downforce. At 300 km/h, the GT2 generates an incredible 54 kgs of downforce.

Available here is an Australian delivered 996 GT2 Club Sport, 1 of just 29 cars that arrived on our shores throughout GT2 production. Sold new by Porsche Centre Brisbane in September of 2002, this ultra-rare car has travelled just 39,000 kilometres and still carries its original features including: • Club Sport seats in fire-resistant cloth • Factory roll cage (removable) • 3-point seat belts in Guards Red • Driver 6-point harness in Guards Red • Passenger 6-point harness in Guards Red • Extended interior carbon package • Cruise control • Automatic climate control

This unique car also benefits from bespoke Porsche Tequipment upgrades including carbon fibre rear wing and series 2 forged alloy wheels enhancing performance and its unmatched road presence.

Recently subject to a no expense spared major service with Porsche this example comes excellently prepared and ready to drive off the showroom floor.

All tell-tale signs show how well the car has been kept from the blemish free carbon trim both inside and out, firm to the touch Club Sport seats to the excellent panel fit and finish, indicative of the low kms the car has travelled.

Accompanying the car are the original leather bound log books detailing a complete service history, factory tool-kit and two original keys, still with valet key attached as well.

The absolute pinnacle of the Porsche performance range, only ever produced in limited numbers and so rarely found in this condition this well optioned 996 GT2 offers an exciting investment opportunity as demand for 996 GT2's of this standard begins to command international interest.

Ready to excite your driving senses with its hair raising capabilities and representative of a sportscar era never to be repeated as we look toward a future of computer enhanced driving aids, this 911 Type 996 GT2 is something quite special.
