2006 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Introduced in 2004, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was the Italian manufacturers replacement for the 456 GT continuing the tradition of the four-seater V12 GT Ferrari’s following in the footsteps of the Ferrari 250 GTE of 1960.

A “Gentlemen’s Express” designed by Pininfarina and produced at the Carrozzeria Scaglietti workshop, the 612 was capable of crossing continents at high speed whilst keeping its driver and passengers in superb comfort throughout the entire journey.

Albeit a luxurious model for Ferrari, the marque wouldn’t keep the GT Ferrari from its fabled heritage of uncompromising high-performance. The Scaglietti features a naturally aspirated V12 unit taken from the 575 Superamerica, that produces 540 horsepower, sprints from 0 – 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds and achieves a top speed of 315km/h.

Ferrari customers could option the 612 Scaglietti with a six-speed F1 paddle-shift transmission or a more traditional, and engaging chrome-gated six-speed manual. The majority of buyers would choose the former but just a handful wanted a more analogue experience.

Total production for the Scaglietti concluded in 2011 with just over 3,000 612’s were built. Only 199 of these were fitted with a manual transmission totalling just 6% of production ensuring future collectability.
