Pearl White | Coupé | 6 Speed automated sequential gearbox | 4.8 litre V10 | 5,566 kms | SOLD

A limited production run, carbon fibre special that endured a nine-year gestation period in the pursuit of automotive engineering perfection, unlike most other manufacturers Halo models, the Lexus LFA is totally uncompromising.

A featherweight, lean yet muscular and immensely strong supercar constructed of carbon fiber with a shape sculpted from hundreds of hours of wind-tunnel modelling the LFA is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8 litre 552 horsepower V10.

Smaller than a traditional V8 and lighter than a conventional V6 the LFA’s engine is an industrial designer’s pipedream that Yamaha, F1 and MotoGP engineers, by brought to life.

Inhale- with lightweight internals, including titanium valves and connecting rods the LFA’s unrivalled engine spins from idle to redline in just six tenths of a second, launches from 0-100kmh in a dizzying 3.6 seconds via a low-mass single-clutch system (necessary to handle the cars insane acceleration) all whilst the equal-length titanium exhaust manifolds and a Yamaha Instruments-tuned titanium silencer produce an amazing Formula One wailing soundtrack from the center mounted triple-cluster exhaust tails- and exhale.

1 of just 500 cars produced worldwide and one of a handful delivered to Australia, travelled just 5,600 kilometres this one owner 2012 Lexus LFA is superb.

Meticulously maintained, the front section of this car is lined with paint protection film and all tell-tale signs from the pre-delivery protection still covering the numbered plaque, the seemingly untouched interior finishes and switch gear and flawless exterior reflect the low kilometres and care this car has received.

One of the best we’ve seen, the cockpit is a synthesis of carbon fibre, aluminium alloy, leather and modern tech mixed with traditional Japanese throwback switches with arguably the best feeling magnesium-alloy shift paddles ever produced.

Front and centre is the digital tachometer, a constant reminder that the engine revs so quickly an analogue system couldn’t keep up and the new car aroma is still fresh and present.
