2017 Ferrari California T

Reviving the California name from the famous 250GT Spyder, the modern-day car had big shoes to fill and whilst maybe not fair to compare their price tags the stunning roadster exceeded expectations and was perhaps one of Ferrari's most innovative models to date.

The California T epitomises the sublime elegance, sportiness, versatility and exclusivity that have distinguished every California model since the 1950’s.

The shape of the new California T’s flanks is inspired by the 250 Testa Rossa’s famous pontoon-fender styling with the front wing line stretching back towards the compact, muscular rear and bringing an aerodynamic sleekness and movement to the sides. The California T HS has the same body as the T with a charismatic grill and seductive carbon ceramic breaks. In the HS the front grille and rear diffuser are covered in matte chrome. Showing a little more of a sporty style, the exhaust tips are darker.

The 3.9 litre V8 engine punches out 550 hp with its twin-turbo configuration.

Turbo lag has also been virtually eliminated by cutting overall masses and inertia, and the use of the F1-derived flat-plane crankshaft and innovative twin-scroll turbines. Clever design and manufacturing techniques have also produced a classically powerful, exhilarating Ferrari soundtrack as well.

The California T’s cabin is a seamless blending of innovative volumes, streamlines, functional forms and an instinctive Ferrari feel courtesy of certain classic Prancing Horse styling cues, such as the clear division between the dash and tunnel, round air vents, multi-functional steering wheel and signature F1 bridge on the tunnel. The Turbo Performance Engineer (TPE) takes pride of place between the two air vents at the center of dash. This is a sophisticated instrument with a digital display and touch-sensitive surround for scrolling that provides pointers on making the most effective use of the new engine’s performance in terms of responsiveness and efficiency. The California T HS comes with the same 2+2 seating arrangement as the regular model leaving you with spacious room for comfort and ease.
