2023 Nissan Fairlady Z

The decades-long Z Car legend starts with the original Datsun 240Z, a car that made an indelible impression on the youth, one that has survived the fickle ravages of time and taste and a car that landed on this planet with a wallop.

Produced as something of a response to Toyota's 2000 GT sports car, the 240Z would ultimately be far more successful and with a 151-hp 2.4-liter straight-six engine paired with a four-speed transmission, fully independent suspension, the 240Z was seen as a performance bargain.

Since its Iconic debut the 240Z has earned a reputation for being Japan's E-type for its euro-esk design, straight six engine and driver centric driver experience which has set the baseline for the next generation of Z cars.

In 2020 Nissan finally retired the 370Z after more than a decade on the market, leaving fans in suspense for nearly 2 years and with limited communication on what they were planning next made people worried this could be the end of the Fairlady Z lineup.

That was until the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon where they finally released the new “Z”, thats right they named it just Z. It was a brave move but as soon as the veil was removed it was unmistakably a design inspired by Zs of the past. It didn’t just look the part, It also hid a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 under the long 240Z-like hood with 400-hp on tap it makes something not to be reckoned with.

We are very excited to bring to market this 2023 Z Proto Spec Edition, much like the launch car at the Auto Salon Nissan stand it features the hero Ikazuchi Yellow with a Black roof, bronze wheels with yellow brake calipers over a black interior set off with yellow stitching and accents.

There is a lot of speculation about what number of Proto Spec cars made it to Australia with many believing we were cut off just before 100 hit our shores. If you did happen to be one of the many on Nissans long wait list that missed out with just 117kms on the clock our Z could be the closest thing to receiving one new in 2023.
