What we love about an Aston Martin is that it’s not the sort of car you simply, turn off, close the door, press lock and walk away from without something making you turn back around for one last look.
Styled by Ian Callum, originally engineered by Tom Walkinshaw Racing and the first Aston Martin to be powered by a V12 engine – in 1994 the release of the DB7 was a significant landmark within the British automakers storied history. At first, the DB7 was offered with an inline-Six Supercharged engine, then in 1999, a silky V12 alternative was released.
Then, in 2002 Aston Martin produced a very limited edition DB7 GTA, essentially an updated and improved version of the V12 Vantage.
Using the very same V12 as the Vantage, the DB7 GTA despatched the 0-100 km/h sprint in a white knuckle inducing five seconds.
The GTA also received uprated suspension, front and rear ventilated disc brakes by Brembo and a Touchtronic transmission with “up, down” shifters mounted on the leather bound steering wheel.
The GTA was a car designed to be driven with a gentlemanly enthusiasm whilst still maintaining Aston’s elegance and quintessentially, double breasted British character.
Walking around the car you’ll notice the distinguishing new features the GTA had to offer. It had all new designed front mesh grille, vents on the bonnet, rear boot spoiler, optional carbon fibre trim and five spoke alloy wheels.
On offer here is a stunning DB7 GTA ordered in Tungsten Grey over Black Leather and optioned with the rarely seen carbon fibre trim.
Originally delivered to the U.K and arriving in Australia in 2011 this car has been meticulously maintained. Accompanying the car are its original leather bound books, a full service history with receipts, import papers and both sets of original keys.
With such low mileage and only 112 examples ever produced, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most unique, fastidiously maintained and finest made DB7’s we’ve ever seen.
