SVX stands for “Subaru Vehicle X”, and when it was launched in 1989 this was THE halo car for Subaru.

The SVX emerged from Japan’s golden age of automobiles in the 1990s when it was a hotbed of bold engineering.

Honda was producing a supercar to frighten Ferrari and other brands were making, now cult classic sports cars that could strut the world stage.

Penned by Italdesign under the watchful eye of renowned designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, the man behind landmark cars like the 105 Series Alfa Romeo and BMW M1 the long, low and wide SVX with its distinctive jet fighter style canopy was/is the perfect grand tourer combining a silky smooth horizontal “boxer” six-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive.
