1996 Jaguar XK8

Launched in 1996 to replace the XJ series, the Jaguar XK8 (100) series was to be Jaguars flagship model reviving the grand touring XK name once more.

The first-generation of the XK series shares its XJS-derived platform with the Aston Martin DB7. Both cars were related to an abandoned Jaguar development study in the mid-1980s known as XJ41/XJ42 which was actually going to be named the F-Type.

Available in a two-door coupé and two-door convertible the XK8 featured an all new 4.0-litre 32-valve Jaguar AJ-V8 engine which produced 290 horsepower to its rear wheels through a smooth and reliable ZF 5-speed automatic transmission. Achieving 0 - 100 km/h in under 7 seconds.
