The Carrera nomenclature has long been associated with one of the toughest road races in the world – the Carrera Panamericana Road Race – an event that created legends for both manufacturers and drivers in the word of motorsport.

Today – the Carrera nameplate adorns generations of Porsche’s from as early as the 356 all the way through to the current line-up. One of the most legendary models in its history is undoubtably the 911 Carrera 3.0. This car occupies a rather special place in the 911’s history combining two Porsche legends into one incredible car that was built for less than 12 months.

The 911 Carrera 3.0 was the successor to the now stratospherically collectable and valuable 2.7 Carrera but combined that racing technology with the 3.0 litre aluminum engine its legendary stablemate, the Type 930 911 Turbo featured. It was indeed the ultimate 911 combination of the 1970’s, a time where Porsche was dominating world motorsport events around the world.

Some say the most significant cosmetic update, however, is hidden from view. 1976 model year saw Porsche introduce hot-dip zinc coating for all 911 panels, vastly improving the cars resistance to corrosion which today makes this car all the more desirable. Offering an additional 35hp over the previous 2.7 911, a wider rear stance and larger forged Fuchs alloys, a lighter 6-bolt flywheel from the 2.7 Carrera RS and a significantly improved interior build quality with more mod-cons the 3.0L Carrera today is one of the best early Porsche’s a petrol head can sink their teeth into.

Listed here is an impeccably original Australian delivered 911 Carrera 3.0L in its original Guards Red with Black Carrera script over Blue and Red Tartan interior trim and satin Black Fuchs alloys.

In out and out superb condition both mechanically and cosmetically inside and outside, this rare car recently had the entire air-conditioning matrix rebuilt to complete the perfect original 911, just in time for Summer around the corner.

From the depth of finish of the paintwork to the original Carrera Sill and engine bay decals, original Concord stereo, correct Sekurit glass throughout the car, correct plush pile carpets and crystal-clear imaging on the interior switch-gear to the way this car puts it’s immense power to the road, this would have to be one of the most special and well sorted 911’s we’ve had the opportunity to bring to market.

So tightly held and rarely available to buy, this exceptional 911 Carrera 3.0 is accompanied by original log books and keys, plus it’s original spare space-saver wheel and compressor.

Ready to drive off the showroom floor today, this exceptional early 911 is one not to be missed as values and interest grows around the world.
