It was towards the end of the 987 & 997 cycle awaiting the all new generation to be released that Porsche allowed their engineers off the leash to develop a more lightweight and track-focused Porsche Cayman.
They came back to management with it dressed in a Porsche OEM aerokit, 19-inch lightweight wheels from the Boxster Spyder, lighteight aluminium doors from the 911 GT3 and fibreglass bucket seats with carbon fibre backing from the GT2 and they removed the interior doorhandles replacing them with pull ropes seen in the GT3 RS, it was labelled the Cayman R.
With new sports suspension, the R was 10 mm lower than the Cayman S, it’s 3.4 litre flat six was given 10 more horsepower thanks to its freer-flowing exhaust system and because it weighs in at 54 kg less than the Cayman S, the R can achieve 0 – 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
With only 17 examples arriving on Australian shores, we are excited to bring to market this exceptionally well kept 2011 Porsche Cayman R ordered in Jet Black Metallic over black leather trim optioned with a PDK transmission and just 80,436 kilometres has been recorded since new.
Optional Features Included:
- Metallic Paint
- Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
- Sports Chrono Package
- Contrast Colour in Silver
- Sports Design Steering Wheel
- Centre Storage Console Painted in Black
This Cayman R has been meticulously maintained, the exterior paintwork and wheels are perfect and the interior shows little to no signs of wear on the leather or Alcantara.
Accompanying the vehicle is its original two keys, owner’s manual, service booklet detailing a complete Porsche service history from new with its last completed in May 2024 @ 79,622kms and it is under Porsche Extended Factory Warranty until June 2027.
The complete package, the Cayman R is a far more affordable option to buy into a track focused and collectible modern Porsche. Arguably the best driver’s car, the Cayman offers uncanny grip, perfectly balanced handling and with its tuned up naturally aspirated 3.4 litre it generates plenty of power onto the straight with the flat-six tune to accompany it.
This is an exciting opportunity, do not miss out.
