2006 Ferrari 575M SuperAmerica

The early 2000s were an incredible era of technological innovation for Ferrari, giving rise to some of the most iconic bedroom-wall poster cars of a generation—the 360 Modena, F430, Enzo, and the all-mighty 575M, Ferrari’s flagship front-engined V12 GT.

As production of the 575M neared its end, Ferrari did what only Ferrari can—farewell it with a mouthwatering, strictly limited-edition model. Reviving the SuperAmerica nameplate, last seen in the 1960s, the new model was launched as a low-production convertible version of the 575M. Just 559 examples were produced.

Upon its debut in 2005, it was heralded as the fastest convertible Berlinetta in the world, with a top speed of 320 km/h. The SuperAmerica’s most distinct feature is its revolutionary electrochromic glass roof, which rotates 180 degrees to rest flush over the boot lid. A switch in the centre console allows the driver to adjust the tint across five settings—a remarkable piece of technology, even by today’s standards.

Under the bonnet lies a more powerful version of the 575M’s 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V12, tuned to produce 533 horsepower—25 more than its coupé sibling—propelling it from 0–100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

Now available is a rare Australian-delivered example, one of only six Ferrari SuperAmericas to reach local shores. Ordered in Rosso Corsa over Tan leather, this car remains in immaculate original condition, having travelled just over 47,700 km since new.
