1999 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Turbocharged, All-wheel-drive, short wheel base.

These are the fundamental ingredients to cook up the perfect road/rally storm.

This was quickly determined by Subaru upon the initial release of the very first Impreza WRX in 1994. The car was an instant success, appealing to motoring aficionados around the globe for its inconceivable performance and its signature “Boxer Burble”.

WRX’s have been a popular choice for many motoring enthusiasts since its release. The early shape being the most desirable for its representation of the Peter ‘Possum’ Bourne and Colin McCrae cars that changed Subaru’s rallying reputation from fledgling to champion status.

Direct from the Japanese factory, Australian WRXs received a 155kW version of the 2.0 litre 4 Cylinder turbocharged boxer motor, however in 1999 we were graced with the launch of the all new two-door WRX STI (Subaru Tecnica International), limited to just 399 cars to our local market.

As well as all new robust suspension and a short-shifting gearbox, power was upgraded to a whopping 206kW thanks to all new forged pistons, hollow stem inlet valves, sodium-filled exhaust valves and a higher compression ratio allowing the STI to hit 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds and redlining at 8200rpm.

We are excited to bring to market this excellently well preserved 1999 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Coupé.

Ordered in Pure White and delivered new by Peter Donnelly Automotive, Subaru Campbelltown, Sydney on the 21st of January 1999, this WRX STI has travelled just 108,600kms since.

Fastidiously maintained, this Impreza remains unmodified and has a complete and up-to-date Subaru service history. The timing belt, idlers and pulleys were replaced 20,000 kilometres ago and a recent service has been performed by Subaru in May 2019. This fantastic example is well prepped and ready to drive off the showroom floor.

The car is accompanied with its original radio, all of its original handbooks, service booklets and Subaru service receipts.

With a very scarce quantity of examples like this existing today, this car is a perfect match for an avid enthusiast or collector, a viewing is an absolute must.
