With the world now turning electric, the days of any car manufacturer building an exceptionally beautiful, naturally aspirated V12, rear wheel drive masterpiece are gone. But in the early noughties at Aston Martin that is exactly what was happening. What they didn’t know at the time was that they were in the process of creating a road legal car, which in competition, was so good it claimed outright GT honors at Le Mans.
A few years later, a homeland order was placed for a uniquely optioned DB9 - Tungsten Silver coachwork, iron ore leather interior and a selection of top-shelf materials all hand stitched and carefully crafted into place. This rare DB9, is a seriously luxurious GT with supercar performance so it's no surprise this dealer registered car was snatched up with less than 300 miles by its one and only owner. After its 3 year stint in the UK the car was personally imported to Australia. It has been kept in superb condition and has been fastidiously maintained by Aston Martin.
Those in the know acknowledge the DB9’s mix of aluminum and composite body panels, cloaking an extruded aluminum space frame, as the underpinning for its reputation of an excellent all rounder.
This beautiful Aston is light and placeable on the road and that bellowing V12 will brighten up every occasion, whether it be the daily commute, or that perfect weekend in the country.
What an engine, a V12 that really comes alive as you approach the 7200 redline, with a beautiful linear powerband that will exceed your wildest expectations.
The entertainment is always present with opposing silver dials, of the rev counter and speedometer, that appear to be constantly racing each other as you shift through the gears.
It doesn’t matter if you like your martini shaken, or stirred, this is a proper gentleman’s sports car. A work of art and automotive history that is not to be missed.
