The first local Goggo produced was the TS 300 sedan, powered by a small 300cc twin cylinder two-stroke engine it can seat two adults and two children comfortably.
For the time, it was Australia’s cheapest auto, just £652.00 and was marketed as an “Amazing new 4-seat, 60 m.p.g. Wonder Car with miraculous, tougher-than-steel, DENT-PROOF body!". The Goggo must have seemed out of this world. This, two-stroke, air-cooled, twin-cylinder, rear-mounted engine compact designed with functionality in mind would happily spin to 5000 revs and use just 4.7-litres/100km. And, because it weighed just 410 kilograms, it could reach an eye popping 96km/h.
The handsome Turquoise and White TS 300 Sedan offered is a totally and professionally restored original Australian made car, featuring twin windscreen wipers, wing-mounted rear vision mirrors, wind-up windows, functioning rear mounted air-intakes and a 4 speed manual transmission.
The detailed restoration works took a painstaking two years to complete using original and masterfully refurbished parts.
Finished to exacting standards, finer details like the correct Hella headlight and taillight bezels, G stamped deck-lid grille, enamel coated steering wheel, Jetsons-esque Goggomobil insignia and artfully fitted leather suicide door straps are all tell-tale signs of a meticulous restoration.
In excellent running and driving order, this collectable curiosity begs to be driven and forms the cornerstone of the Goggomobil empire.
