In the world of SUVs, Range Rover is the gold standard.

An all-weather, tackle any terrain machine and arguably the first off-road fashion accessory, early Range Rovers paved the way for this globetrotter’s modern popularity.

A Paris to Dakar Rally winner and famously quoted by Harry’s Garage as being “perfect to throw your dead sheep into” fitted with a beefy 135 horsepower Rover V8, long travel suspension for stability and exceptional axle articulation, 4 speed high-low ratio gearbox and boasting spectacular 360° elevated views of the world around you, pre-1995 Range Rovers were and are still unrivalled on our roads today.

Exceptional early Range Rovers now command as much, sometimes more than today’s most sophisticated 4x4s with values and interest continuing to skyrocket internationally.

The lure of the great outdoors will always beckon the adventurous and there is no better way to experience it than with a Classic Range Rover.

An exceptionally low mileage example of the iconic Range Rover Classic, this 1987 Highline model has covered just 25,385 km from new. Given its excellent original condition and desirable specification, this represents a compelling ownership prospect. Overall the body is in good condition with the Chamonix White paintwork being consistent and shows no signs of fading and highlights the straight body lines. Being an Australian Highline specification, this Range Rover Classic received a few extras for its 1987 delivery, including air conditioning, ‘Tri-Spoke’ alloy wheels, front driving lights, power mirrors, power windows and a radio cassette system.

The interior is in excellent and original condition with minimal wear. The seats and high-contact areas present little signs of ageing which is very impressive being the original fabric and vinyl across the interior. The centre of the dashboard houses the OEM Range Rover cassette player and analogue climate control system in complete working order. The last service was performed by Rova Range at 21,850 km.

This enthusiast-owned Range Rover Classic is a rare opportunity to purchase a remarkably original example in good condition. Its Highline specification in particular helps to give this Range Rover even greater appeal, whether the next owner wishes to use it as a regular runner, or preserve to display at car meets and concours events.

A wonderful opportunity for the collector of these fast-appreciating classics.
